Assistant Store Keeper

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods or materials against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Properly label, tag, and store received items in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and stock discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and manage expiry dates of  time-sensitive items.
  • Coordinate with purchasing or procurement departments to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Prepare and pack goods for outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized storage area, ensuring goods are stored in a safe and accessible manner.
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of inventory management procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, operations, and finance, to support smooth operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Asst. storekeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a retail, warehouse, or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory records and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems or software.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to interact with suppliers, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items or packages.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to warehousing and storage.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer applications, such as MS Office.
