Sauna heater and door on the same wall
For optimal air circulation and heat distribution in the sauna, we recommend placing the heater and sauna door on the same wall. Since the sauna door cannot be completely sealed and is frequently opened during bathing, this setup helps coordinate airflow and heat flow. If space is limited on that wall, an alternative is to install the heater on a side wall, as close to the door as possible.

Avoid a high ceiling in the sauna to improve heat distribution and save energy
Keep the ceiling height below 220 cm if the sauna has benches on two levels. An ideal distance from the upper bench to the ceiling is approximately 110–130 cm. Higher ceilings make it harder for heat to reach the lower levels, as the warm air rises toward the ceiling. This can reduce heating efficiency and negatively affect the sauna’s overall performance.

Optimal placement of the supply air vent below the sauna heater
The supply air vent should be placed behind the sauna heater, passing through the wall. For saunas with heaters up to 10 kW, a vent size of approximately 125 cm² is recommended. For public saunas using heaters of 16 kW or more, the vent size should be around 300 cm². The supply vent should not have a damper and must remain fully open at all times.

Optimal placement of the exhaust air vent in relation to the supply air vent
To achieve maximum distance between the exhaust air vent and the supply air vent, the exhaust vent should be placed as far from the supply vent as possible. A recommended setup is to position the exhaust vent diagonally across the sauna in relation to the supply vent. It should be installed high on the wall or in the ceiling and have the same dimensions as the supply vent. Exhaust air should always be directed into the same room from which the intake air is drawn, and never directly outdoors.
